County Commissioner Yvette Townsend‑Ingram is a proven leader, a strategic thinker, and a champion for the people of Mecklenburg County. With a career spanning public service, higher education, nonprofit leadership, workforce development, and community advocacy, she brings a rare blend of operational expertise and human-centered leadership to the Board of County Commissioners.

Yvette’s professional journey includes roles in budget administration, foundation relations, community development, data management, and organizational leadership. She has managed multimillion‑dollar public budgets, strengthened university advancement systems, led nonprofit initiatives addressing disparities, and supported vulnerable communities through education, job creation, and access to resources. Her work has consistently focused on improving systems so that people especially those historically underserved can thrive.
